Managing Director
Jason joined Syngenta Ventures in 2020. Before joining Syngenta, Jason was a Managing Director at Third Security, LLC, a $1+ billion life sciences venture capital manager, for 12 years. There, Jason invested in and served on the boards of five companies in the agbiotech and technology industries. Additionally, Jason assisted in growing and managing Third Security’s primary portfolio company, Intrexon Corporation, including investing over $500 million in follow on investments in Intrexon and affiliated companies, taking Intrexon public, and performing strategic and corporate development activities for Intrexon through a formal relationship with Intrexon’s Board of Directors. Prior to joining Third Security, Jason spent three years in Corporate Development, Business Development and Strategic Development positions in a Fortune 500 company. Previously, he was an Associate at SKM Growth Investors, L.P., a middle market private equity fund. Jason began his career as an investment banking analyst with Jefferies & Company.
Jason serves on the Board of AgWorld and as board observer or strategic advisory board member of Power Pollen, Greenlight Biosciences, Groundtruth Ag and PrecisionHawk.
Jason is a summa cum laude graduate of Millsaps College and received an M.B.A. from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia
